In addition to our core leadership team, Voyager has chosen to partner with some of the best and most experienced industry talent available. The following individuals offer many years of broad experience in their respective areas of expertise. These individuals personally support the Voyager team on a regular and ongoing basis. They provide knowledge and practical insights gained over many years of accomplishment within multiple industry leading organizations.

Patrick S. Smith - President, CEO and Chairman of the Board

Patrick S. Smith brings to Voyager Pharmaceutical Corporation nearly three decades' experience in the pharmaceutical, medical device and healthcare services industries.

Patrick is a co-founder of our company and has served as our President, Chief Executive Officer and a director since our inception in February 2001 and as Chairman of the Board since October 2005. He previously founded and led New England Critical Care, one of the first alternative-site healthcare companies.

Established in 1981, New England Critical Care grew from its $7.5 million initial venture capital investment to a $1 billion enterprise under Patrick's leadership. He served as NECC/Critical Care America's CEO from founding to its merger in 1992.

Since 1993, Patrick has been engaged in numerous philanthropic and volunteer activities, including founding two not-for-profit elementary educational institutions. In 2000, he made a decision to devote his full energy and efforts to establish and build Voyager Pharmaceutical Corporation. He offers Voyager an outstanding track record of successful experiences and depth as founder and CEO of a major NYSE-traded company.

Additionally, Patrick has served in board of director positions with Integrated Care Systems, which he co-founded, Cardio-Care America, Women's Care America, Pediatricare America, Infusion Centers America, Naples Community Hospital System, Inc. and Sacred Heart Academy, Inc.

He was named Chivas Regal 1986 Entrepreneur of the Year, 1987's New England Businessman of the Year, and Arthur Young/Venture Magazine Entrepreneur of the Year.

Mr. Smith is an alumnus of John Carroll University and holds an honorary doctorate degree from the New York Medical College.

David J. Corcoran - CFO and Executive Vice President

A co-founder of Voyager, Dave Corcoran oversees the financial, legal and regulatory aspects of Voyager's business, including its patent protection program. He is also responsible for FDA approval of Voyager's Alzheimer's treatment.

In addition, he serves as Voyager's liaison in the development of all strategic partnerships and in particular with DURECT Corporation, the specialty drug delivery company that will produce the company's Alzheimer's product under a long-term agreement.

Dave worked alongside Patrick Smith and was instrumental in building Critical Care America. He also assisted in the launch of several Critical Care America-related companies and was also a co-founder of MedNet Affiliates, a provider of office-based orthopedic services.

Prior to joining Critical Care America, he was a partner in two prominent law firms in Chicago and Boston, where he specialized in providing support and counsel to emerging companies.

Mr. Corcoran is a graduate of Bowdoin College, with honors, and the Northwestern University School of Law.

Sheldon Goldberg – Senior Vice President of Corporate Development

Sheldon Goldberg joined Voyager Pharmaceuticals in March of 2005 to head up Corporate Development and support Voyager’s efforts in research and recruitment of our pivotal Phase III trials.

Sheldon comes to Voyager from Alzheimer’s Association where he served as President and Chief Executive Officer since 2002. He has over 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry. He has been President and Chief Executive Officer of both the Jewish Home and Hospital and American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging.

Mr. Goldberg is past board member AARP Services Incorporated and served on the Leadership Council of Aging Organization.

His experience and leadership along with his lifelong commitment to helping the aging is valuable addition to the Voyager team.

Mr. Goldberg is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin.

Michael J. Giannini - Vice President, Business Operations

Mike Giannini joined Voyager Pharmaceuticals in January of 2002 to develop the organization's infrastructure and business and management practices in response to the firm's current needs and expected future growth. He is also involved in the development of key business and pharmaceutical industry relationships.

With more than 20 years' management experience, primarily in the pharmaceutical industry, Mike's most recent role was that of Vice President, Human Resources with Quintiles Americas before joining Voyager.

From 1996 to 1999, he led the American Century Investors professional and investment management staffing organization, as Vice President, Staffing.

Mr. Giannini fulfilled numerous roles with Marion Laboratories, Inc. and its successor companies from 1983 to 1996, rising to the position of Director, Human Resources for Hoechst Marion Roussel's USA Research & Development organization.

Mr. Giannini is a graduate of Purdue University.

JOSEPH DeVEAUGH-GEISS, MD

JOSEPH DeVEAUGH-GEISS, MD, has been working with Voyager, in a consulting capacity since 2002. He has been directly involved in the design and oversight of the Phase I study, along with the Phase II and Phase III double-blind, placebo-controlled trials (ALADDIN) investigating the safety and effectiveness of leuprolide acetate as a potential treatment for Alzheimer's disease.

Prior to assuming this new role, he worked as an independent consultant and founder of Brainstorm CNS, LLC. His background offers both academic and industry experience and accomplishment. Most recently, he was Vice President and International Director, Central Nervous System Clinical Research, for Glaxo Wellcome. He maintains academic appointments at the Duke University Medical Center, Duke Clinical Research Institute, University of North Carolina, SUNY Health Science Center and the American University of the Caribbean.

Joe spent his eighteen + year pharmaceutical career with CIBA-GEIGY and Glaxo Wellcome. During that time he contributed to and managed the successful submission of over a dozen NDAs and SNDAs. His experience with the design, execution and analysis of clinical research activities is extraordinary.

BERT A. SPILKER, PhD, MD, FCP, FFPM

BERT A. SPILKER, PhD, MD, FCP, FFPM is a renowned industry expert in clinical trials design and drug development. He most recently was Senior Vice President of Scientific and Regulatory Affairs for PhRMA (Pharmaceutical Research and Manufactures of America).

Bert, previously spent over twenty + years with Pfizer, Philips-Duphar, Sterling-Winthrop and Burroughs Wellcome in pharmaceutical discovery, development and management. He maintains academic appointments at the University of Minnesota and the University of North Carolina. He co-founded and was President of Orphan Medical, Inc.and has authored 15 books on clinical trials methods and the processes of drug discovery and development. Many industry professionals consider and use these books as the standard references on clinical trials and drug development.

JOHN E. DILLBERGER, DVM, PhD, DACVP, DABT, FIATP

JOHN E. DILLBERGER is a preclinical development consultant specializing in the application of pharmacology, toxicology and pathology expertise to the safety evaluation of drugs, devices and biologics. His clients include biopharmaceutical companies worldwide.

John has held positions of increasing responsibility at Marion Merrell Dow, GlaxoWellcome, Triangle Pharmaceuticals and Charles Rivers Laboratories over his sixteen year career in the pharmaceutical industry. He has served as Head of US Pathology, Director of US Based Development Projects, Worldwide Specialist in Oncology Drug Projects for GlaxoWellcome and as Director of Toxicology at Triangle Pharmaceuticals. John has prepared safety evaluations packages for numerous clinical trial and marketing applications in the US and Europe, including the recently approved NDA for the anti-retroviral drug Coviracil.

MICHAEL BOWDEN MB CHB DIP. PHARM. MED. MFPM DFFP

MICHAEL BOWDEN, MB, ChB Dip. Pharm. Med. MFPM DFFP, Dr. Bowden brings an extraordinary breadth and depth of drug development experience, particularly in Alzheimer's disease. He is currently the owner of MWB Consulting Limited with over a decade of experience with Alzheimer's disease.

Dr. Bowden has had an extensive career in the pharmaceutical industry working for Health Decisions Limited, Wyeth Laboratories, SmithKline Beecham Pharmaceuticals and Protogdigm Ltd in various senior level positions. His experience spans clinical phases I-IV, medical affairs, business planning, drug safety, regulatory affairs, and company formation and management. He entered the pharmaceutical industry in 1988 following clinical training in General Practice in which he maintains a part-time appointment. Dr. Bowden obtained his MB ChB from the University of Liverpool Medical School, UK.
