BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The following individuals offer many years of broad experience in their respective areas of expertise. These individuals personally support the Voyager team on a regular and ongoing basis. They provide knowledge and practical insights gained over many years of accomplishment within multiple industry leading organizations.

Patrick S. Smith - President, CEO and Chairman of the Board
Patrick S. Smith brings to Voyager Pharmaceutical Corporation nearly three decades' experience in the pharmaceutical, medical device and healthcare services industries.

Patrick is a co-founder of our company and has served as our President, Chief Executive Officer and a director since our inception in February 2001 and as Chairman of the Board since October 2005. He previously founded and led New England Critical Care, one of the first alternative-site healthcare companies.

Established in 1981, New England Critical Care grew from its $7.5 million initial venture capital investment to a $1 billion enterprise under Patrick's leadership. He served as NECC/Critical Care America's CEO from founding to its merger in 1992.

Since 1993, Patrick has been engaged in numerous philanthropic and volunteer activities, including founding two not-for-profit elementary educational institutions. In 2000, he made a decision to devote his full energy and efforts to establish and build Voyager Pharmaceutical Corporation. He offers Voyager an outstanding track record of successful experiences and depth as founder and CEO of a major NYSE-traded company.

Additionally, Patrick has served in board of director positions with Integrated Care Systems, which he co-founded, Cardio-Care America, Women's Care America, Pediatricare America, Infusion Centers America, Naples Community Hospital System, Inc. and Sacred Heart Academy, Inc.

He was named Chivas Regal 1986 Entrepreneur of the Year, 1987's New England Businessman of the Year, and Arthur Young/Venture Magazine Entrepreneur of the Year.

Mr. Smith is an alumnus of John Carroll University and holds an honorary doctorate degree from the New York Medical College

David J. Corcoran - CFO and Executive Vice President
A co-founder of Voyager, Dave Corcoran oversees the financial, legal and regulatory aspects of Voyager's business, including its patent protection program. He is also responsible for FDA approval of Voyager's Alzheimer's treatment.

In addition, he serves as Voyager's liaison in the development of all strategic partnerships and in particular with DURECT Corporation, the specialty drug delivery company that will produce the company's Alzheimer's product under a long-term agreement.

Dave worked alongside Patrick Smith and was instrumental in building Critical Care America. He also assisted in the launch of several Critical Care America-related companies and was also a co-founder of MedNet Affiliates, a provider of office-based orthopedic services.

Prior to joining Critical Care America, he was a partner in two prominent law firms in Chicago and Boston, where he specialized in providing support and counsel to emerging companies.

Mr. Corcoran is a graduate of Bowdoin College, with honors, and the Northwestern University School of Law.

Sheldon Goldberg - Senior Vice President of Corporate Development and Board member
Sheldon Goldberg joined Voyager Pharmaceuticals in March of 2005 to head up Corporate Development and support Voyager's efforts in research and recruitment of our pivotal Phase III trials.

Sheldon comes to Voyager from Alzheimer’s Association where he served as President and Chief Executive Officer since 2002. He has over 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry. He has been President and Chief Executive Officer of both the Jewish Home and Hospital and American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging.

Mr. Goldberg is past board member AARP Services Incorporated and served on the Leadership Council of Aging Organization.

His experience and leadership along with his lifelong commitment to helping the aging is valuable addition to the Voyager team.

Mr. Goldberg is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin.

Tommy G. Thompson - Former U.S. Health Secretary
From February 2001 to January 2005, Tommy Thompson served as secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services under President George W. Bush. Thompson left that post in February 2005 and joined Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP, a prominent national law firm. Prior to his appointment to the Department of Health and Human Services in 2001, Thompson served as governor of the state of Wisconsin. He has received numerous public service awards, including Governing magazine's Public Official of the Year Award and The Horatio Alger Association of Distinguished Americans' Horatio Alger Award. Thompson has served as chairman of the National Governors' Association, the Education Commission of the States and the Midwestern Governors Conference. He serves on the boards of C.R. Bard, Inc., a surgical and medical instruments company, and Centene Corporation, a managed care organization.

Jim Artman - Retired Partner, KPMG LLP
Artman brings 30 years of experience in accounting and auditing from his work in the Raleigh office of KPMG LLP. He was elected to the partnership at KPMG in 1982, serving in a variety of technical and professional roles for the firm during his tenure as partner. As a certified public accountant, Artman will chair the audit committee for Voyager's board. His professional accomplishments at KPMG include the following:
- Professional practice partner for the Carolinas Business Unit
- SEC reviewing partner for the firm
- Three-year assignment in the firm’s national Department of Professional Practice
- Engagement partner for numerous publicly-traded companies

Artman is also a strong and active contributor in North Carolina, having served in the following capacities:
- College of Management Board of Advisors – North Carolina State University
- Chair of Accreditation/Certification Committee – United Way of Wake County
- Continuing Care Advisory Committee – North Carolina Department of Insurance

William Edward McConville - O.F.M, former President, Siena College
The Rev. William Edward McConville brings 34 years of experience as a leader in the academic, civic, and religious world to the Voyager board. He served as president of Siena College (Albany, New York) from 1989 to 1996. He also served as director for a wide range of organizations in both the profit and not-for-profit sectors. McConville is experienced in the oversight of financial and health care organizations as well as academic institutions, inter-collegiate athletics and the arts. He holds a doctoral degree in Systematic Theology from Vanderbilt University, a Master’s degree in Theology from Washington Theological Union, and an undergraduate degree from Catholic University.

Kevin Giblin - President and CEO of Brendon Properties
Kevin Giblin is one of Voyager's 10 largest outside shareholders. He has been a shareholder since 2002. For the past 30 years, Giblin has managed Brendon Properties, a successful development company in the Boston area which he also founded. The company has successfully developed nearly $600 million in various real estate properties, including office, retail and residential properties. Giblin provides philanthropic support to and serves on the boards of numerous charities in the greater Boston area. For 18 years he has served on the board of Spectrum Hospital’s Drug and Rehabilitation Program. He also formerly served as chairman of the board for his local Board of Town Selectmen.

James P. Carney - President and CEO of Bernardi Auto Group
James Carney is another one of Voyager's 10 largest outside shareholders. He has been a shareholder since 2002. Carney has more than 35 years of entrepreneurial experience in the automobile industry. He owns and manages six successful automobile franchises for the Bernardi Auto Group in the greater Boston area. Because of his leadership, Carney's businesses have won numerous automobile manufacturer awards, including Toyota's President's Award and Acura's Precision Team Award. Carney is a benefactor for many local civic and charitable organizations. He has also been recognized by Boston's 200 Foundation, Inc. as its Man of the Year honoree in 2003 and its Salute to Framingham honoree in 2006.
